CD Title: MASAKO
Release Date: April, 2012
Recorded at Imaginary Road Studios
Produced by Will Ackerman, Tom Eaton, and MASAKO.
Engineered by Tom Eaton.
Though her music may be categorized as "new age," "smooth jazz," or "easy listening," Masako's piano style is uniquely her own, as Will Ackerman (producer, guitarist, founder of Windham Hill Records) describes it: "Every single song sounds to be uniquely hers. I think that the greatest compliment I can give any artist is that their voice is so persuasive that it's no one else. And I've come to know her music in that way."
Masako plays her composition "Glastenbury, VT," a solo piano piece
inspired by a ghost town in southern Vermont.
The new album includes seven solo piano pieces and five ensembles.
Glastenbury is a town in Bennington County Vermont. It is now essentially a ghost town.
Some call this area centered around Glastenbury Moutain "Bennington Triangle" due to the fact that five people went missing in this area between 1920 and 1950.
