This is a Cobra Replica built by Ron Butler in the early 1990s. Ron Butler is the former crew chief on the racing team of designer-driver Carroll Shelby who built the original Ford Shelby Cobras. Ron Butler worked as a race mechanic for Carroll Shelby during the successful 1960s racing campaigns. When Shelby Cobras whipped Ferrari and captured the 1965 World Manufacturing Championship, that same year Ron Butler was awarded the Sebring 12-Hour 'Best Mechanic's Trophy.'
The engines in Butler Cobras (in this case a 1965 Ford 427) are set back approximately 10 inches to achieve 50/50 weight distribution improve the handling.
It is powered by a 1965 Ford 427 side oiler engine and Tremec 5 speed transmission.
